Yang Yan’s (or commonly known as YY) curiosity about mental health was ignited during her school days when she noticed its mysterious and taboo nature. Her perspective changed when she discovered psychology, as it helped her better understand everyday interactions, people, and behaviors.
YY firmly believe that therapy is a catalyst for personal growth, even though it may be uncomfortable at times due to the self-awareness it brings. She views awareness as a powerful tool for change and the starting point for new possibilities. Her areas of interest include trauma, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, stress, burnout, caretaker fatigue, self-development, and awareness, and helping individuals navigate relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem issues, grief, and loss.
YY is dedicated to lifelong learning and continuously strives to expand her knowledge and skills. She is currently pursuing her interest in compassion work through Emotion-Focused Therapy and couples work through the Gottman Method. YY has a particular affinity working with parents or individuals considering starting a family, recognizing the importance of a solid familial foundation for children’s development. She emphasizes the significance of creating a positive environment and support system for children.
Committed to enhancing her qualifications and skills, she aims to provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for individuals to explore their challenges, promote self-awareness, and facilitate positive change. YY eagerly anticipate supporting others on her journey towards improved mental wellbeing and personal growth.
